my sweet and spunky nephew harry b turned 3 on 8/9 and the family celebrated with a party at corinne and dave's house! good times, good food and lots of fun for the kiddo's!
if you didn't pick it up from the title, harry is just a tiny bit obsessed with toy story 3 after seeing it as his first movie earlier this summer! so of course, the decision was made for a toy story birthday party!
harry got the complete buzz lightyear and woody costumes...such a decision to make before halloween, but he'll certainly enjoy wearing both between now and then!!
here is a link to the rest of the photos from his special day!

sunday june 14, 2009 - early holiday
with my mom and dad out of town over the upcoming father's day weekend, my sister and i decided to celebrate the special day a week early with my dad. following church, we gathered at my mom and dad's house where the boys swam for a while and rode in the battery-powered jeep. following a yummy friend turkey, clams and delicious grilled veggies, the boys decided in mid-change from their swimsuits to their clothes, to run around the yard in their "panties"...or "diapees" if you're harry b. they got a kick out of it, and the two monkeys were dancing all over the yard.
for fear of being accused of posting "kiddie porn" or something, i won't post them all. but i couldn't resist this cute one of the two of them "in their skivvies". harry is in a "monkey-see-monkey-do" phase and however tony sits/stands/sings/dances...harry does - hence their identical poses here.
i know i can speak for my sister when i say we couldn't love these two boys anymore than we already do!!

memorial day 2009
tony showing his usa pride
this picture has us both looking a little sad, but for some reason i really like it
i love seeing my sister and harry smiling!
look at that face...and the "b" slobber under his lips/on his chin!
tony and harry - proud to be american's from Christy D'Angelo on Vimeo.
i love the faces tony makes during this short video...he's so trying not to laugh at corinne and i...that would be because my sister and i were dancing around to our "choreographed" routine we've always danced and sang anytime we've heard that song play...it's very dramatic. it's either that or he's already thinking, "mom, i can't believe you're making me do this".

when elmo grows up
as a christmas present from kat kat, uncle jim, jack and sam, tony (and john and i) received tickets to see sesame street live at the giant center in hershey. the show this year was "when elmo grows up" and is about elmo trying to decide what he wants to be when he "gets big" (as tony likes to say).
it was tony's 2nd sesame street live show and harry's 1st! it was very cute and both boys were extremely well behaved during the show.
i left my camera in the car, so you'll have to excuse the picture from my cell as it didn't get very good. anthony was in one of his "anti-picture" moods which is why the only pic i got was of neen and harry!

shannon and mike asked john and i to be troy's godparents and we accepted with honor! it was a beautiful day and troy was very good during the baptism. we shared a nice lunch following at anthony's trattoria and ate some yumm-o food. it was a nice time. here are a few pictures...here is a link to view the rest of the pictures from that day...
november 23, 2008 - tony and harry
john has been busy at corinne and david's laying hardwood flooring in their dining room and living room-turned office-because the office-is-turned-playroom. tony helped out on saturday afternoon. we decided to spend the night so that john could get a head start first thing in the morning and i got some cute pictures of tony and harry pretending to help lay the floor.

100th post!!!
in honor of one milestone (my 100th post) i will write about a different milestone...harrison frederick brumbaugh's 1st birthday!! yes friends, my nephew has turned 1!
yesterday we celebrated harrison's birthday! i had a blast helping my sister prepare for his special day, beginning with the invitations which i designed. i know i took a picture of the invite, but do you think i can actually find it now? the inside did say, "grab 'yer boots and get in gear...harrison's 1st birthday is almost here! then under "gather 'round" it listed all the important info (date, time, location, etc).
i love party planning so setting up and decorating for me doesn't ever feel like work. i apparently underestimated the size of a sheet cake and ended up with the world's largest cake. it was yummy and looked good, so i don't think anyone noticed how much we had leftover!
harrison did quite well as long as he did things on his own terms. he wasn't too in to the cake smashing thing and was "doing it his way" and starting to warm up to it until someone grabbed his hand and mushed cake into it, and then he was done. here is the evidence of that.
here are some more pictures of the fun! good by baby...hello toddler! happy birthday harry b!

holy bad blogger bat-man
testing...testing...is this thing on? just checking. wow - i can't believe it's been over a month since my last post. no excuse really except for shear busyness in the lives of us 3-amigos here in pennside. but you don't really want to hear about what we've been up to...do you? oh, ok, you twisted my arm...let me bring you up to speed.
alright...since i last posted, friends of ours, chris and bobbi-jo welcomed their second child, a daughter, kara ellasyn. she made a grand, grand entrance a bit earlier than planned (you can read about it here) but is doing just fine! ryan is the doting big brother and we couldn't be happier for this new family of four!
the week after the pasta run (6.21-6.28), the 3 of us and corinne, dave and harrison loaded up the cars (yes, despite the horrible gas prices)and headed to rehoboth beach/dewey beach searching for a week of fun in the sun! we found it. it was a fun time and the weather couldn't have been better. we had 1 night of rain/thunderstorms but it was after we were all tucked in bed some of us already sound asleep. this was t's first real experience at the beach (we were in sea isle city for a weekend when he was around 10 mos, so he doesn't remember anything), and he absolutely loved every part of it...the sand, the ocean, the boardwalk (i love when he says that word - it's more "bode-wok"), and the rides. he slept well even taking 2 hour naps bundled up on the beach blanket under the umbrella. here he is dancing up a storm on the boardwalk to a rod stewart impersonator. you can click here to view the photo album from our vacation.
he loved his time with harry! who, by the way, began crawling while at the beach that week. it was a fun milestone and i was excited to be able to share it with him.
we went to several picnics this summer so far and have been having fun with friends and family which has been occupying every weekend we have...guess it's why this summer seems to be going by so fast. here are a few pictures of anthony and his girlfriend abby at our friend sue and jd's pool party this past saturday.

tomorrow we head back to the reading phillies for berks homes' company picnic. it will be nice to visit with john's co-workers again (especially the ones from out of town that we don't get to see often except for the christmas party every year). john and mike lutz (and the lutz boys) will be leaving immediately from the picnic to head to hickory run and skirmish to meet up with dave and the rest of the men (and their [older] sons) from church for the 2nd annual camping trip. they should have a great time playing paintball and having "manly talk" by the fire - oh, and i'm sure there will be some stuffing of faces and beer drinking too.
in other exciting, yet sad news...next thursday is tony's last day at miss michelle's. she will only be working 3-days a week this coming fall and that just doesn't fit in with my 5-day work week and needing 5-day care for him, so as of 8.4 he will be starting at kindercare in exeter. we visited back in january and made the decision that's where he'll be attending, however we are going for a "trial" run tomorrow to spend a few hours (with me there with him) so hopefully he won't be as scared on the 4th when he has to do it by himself. i can't type too much or i'll get sappy, but i will really miss him being at michelle's. she's been caring for him since he was about 9 weeks old and i can see how much of an impact she's had on him and his behavior. i don't know how i will ever thank her enough for the love and care she has given to him these past (almost) 3 years. we will be making a stepping stone for her to place in her new landscaping by her patio with his handprints as a reminder of him.
i know i've probably missed so much, so just take my word that if i think of something i forgot, i'll update it pronto...i'm back on my [blogging] game.
oh, and have i told you all recently how much i love these two guys?Thursday, May 15, 2008
mother's day weekend
i had a great mother's day weekend. i was able to spend the weekend with john and tony and helped corinne celebrate her first mother's day as we were all together camping. we visited oak creek again (and will be back there again in 2 weeks) and broke in corinne and david's new camper! i hope all my mommy friends out there had a great mother's day as well!
during our weekend, oak creek hosted a noah's ark build-a-bear workshop. tony and harry each made a mojo monkey with a surfer dude costume complete with surfboard. it was fun spending time with the little man...the week's have been so busy! we got some great pictures of the stuffing of the monkeys!
shortly after arriving back at our campsite, my mom, nana and dad joined us for lunch to celebrate mother's day...it was a nice relaxing afternoon, hanging out by the fire, eating burgers and dogs and throwing back a couple of beers (or at least just the bottles as they were obviously empty)!
we topped the weekend off with a wagon ride around the campground and homemade waffles on sunday for mother's day breakfast and visiting with john's mom on sunday afternoon! more pictures of our fun weekend here.

wow - where has the time gone?
i can't believe that it's been over a month since i last posted. time surely flies when you live a blessed life! we have been so busy these last few weeks i am actually just now getting a chance to sit down and collect my thoughts! i actually need to back up quite a bit to the beginning of august as i missed a post about our annual trip to knoebel's amusement park with my cousins jack and sam. although we had to alter our plans from a weekend long trip to a day trip (couldn't get a camp site), we made the trek and all had a great time. we were again fortunate enough to have our friends the lutz's join us too. here are a few pictures of the boys enjoying the day. oh, and a big thank you to jack, sam and ethan for stuffing themselves into the kiddie rides so tony was able to go...should be the last year they have to do that - it was just cutting it a little close yet this year. ok, that finished off august and now moving onto september...also known as busy month of birthdays for our family. mom, dad, 2 aunts, 2 cousins and a grandmother all in one month...oh and speaking of birthday's, my oldest and best friend shannon gave birth to her first child, a healthy (and very handsome) little boy, troy michael at 11:17 a.m. on 9/16 (my dad's birthday actually). he weighed in at 7 lbs. and 19 in. long on the nose. corinne, shannon and i were able to get the 3 boys together for a bit one afternoon i was off (these lucky ladies are still enjoying time off on maternity leave - you can tell by the size of my guy, it's been a while since those days for me!!)
rounding out the month of september was my friend liz and dan's wedding this past weekend. i was the prelude pianist and must say i didn't do too bad of a job...let's just say anyone that knows me knows that if i think i did terrible (even if i didn't) i end up in tears...and there were no tears from me after playing so it must have been half decent. we had a blast at the wedding and rounded out the evening that the ovi (unfortunately it wasn't karaoke night, so i was a little bummed...guess i'll just have to go back again). i'll try to post some pics of the wedding once we get them off of the other camera. in the mean time here are just a few additional pics of anthony and harrison that were on my camera. enjoy...and i promise to get back on track with this!!
