labor day weekend - 2010

on friday the 3rd, i, along with

this little guy and fuzzy girl

and this big guy

packed up and headed to warwick woods for a fun weekend of camping...
just the 3 of us!

we enjoyed the most beautiful weather we'd seen in months.

we ate what we wanted to eat, went to bed and got up when we wanted to, and had a fun time being together. saturday we took a walk around the campground and enjoyed a fun hayride. tony took a lazy afternoon nap in his tent outside enjoying the fresh air and cool breeze. sunday warmed up enough for one last swim in the pool (for tony only - still too cold for the rest of us). lots of campfires, smores, and worms to play with. we had a great weekend!

sunday june 21, 2009 - daddy's day

john enjoyed a great father's day. more like father's weekend. sleeping in (saturday and sunday). breakfast in bed and lots of snuggle time with tony d - we were all exhausted from the crazy-as-usual busy weekend! we headed to weaver's (amish store) in fivepointsville to purchase john's father's day present - new hiking/work boots...and some homemade mini-donuts...de.lic.ious. then later that night after giving the decision of where he wanted to eat his f-day dinner, we ended up at our usual, sebastiano's...as it's foolproof we'll love what we'll eat and you can't beat the service and personal attention either!!

john - you are an amazing father...more than i could have hoped you would be. thank you for working so hard to provide for us and take care of us like you do! we hate that you're so busy, but it makes the time we spend with you (like this past weekend) just that much more special!! tony and i love you very, very much!!

i hope all the daddy's...whether it was your first, or you 31st...had a happy father's day!

well, that's all the updating for today. we had very special plans with very special friends yesterday (monday) and that will require a very special post of it's own...but for now...i need to get to bed! nighty-night all!

sunday june 14, 2009 - early holiday

with my mom and dad out of town over the upcoming father's day weekend, my sister and i decided to celebrate the special day a week early with my dad. following church, we gathered at my mom and dad's house where the boys swam for a while and rode in the battery-powered jeep. following a yummy friend turkey, clams and delicious grilled veggies, the boys decided in mid-change from their swimsuits to their clothes, to run around the yard in their "panties"...or "diapees" if you're harry b. they got a kick out of it, and the two monkeys were dancing all over the yard.

for fear of being accused of posting "kiddie porn" or something, i won't post them all. but i couldn't resist this cute one of the two of them "in their skivvies". harry is in a "monkey-see-monkey-do" phase and however tony sits/stands/sings/dances...harry does - hence their identical poses here.

i know i can speak for my sister when i say we couldn't love these two boys anymore than we already do!!

memorial day 2009

we spent the long memorial day weekend at oak creek campground with my sister, dave and harry b. we had our own site across from corinne and dave's permanent site and had a great time. camping is easy with tony and harry...as long as they're together and entertaining each other. it's a non-stop laughing party when these boys get together. it's monkey-see-monkey-do and oh so funny!

tony showing his usa pride

this picture has us both looking a little sad, but for some reason i really like it

i love seeing my sister and harry smiling!

look at that face...and the "b" slobber under his lips/on his chin!

here is an adorable video of the boys waving their flags to "proud to be an american"...

tony and harry - proud to be american's from Christy D'Angelo on Vimeo.

i love the faces tony makes during this short video...he's so trying not to laugh at corinne and i...that would be because my sister and i were dancing around to our "choreographed" routine we've always danced and sang anytime we've heard that song play...it's very dramatic. it's either that or he's already thinking, "mom, i can't believe you're making me do this".

and an album of pictures from the rest of our awesome weekend!! hope your holiday was just as nice!

no. way.

there is no way it is a friday night and the three of us are HOME...with NO plans...NOTHING to do...but enjoy each other and a few quiet moments together. there is just no way.

still in disbelief, i will close the laptop and enjoy this evening of nothingness. johnny and t are headed out to pick up a hot, cheese pizza and we are going to enjoy it...in our house...doing nothing.

hope you all have/had a friday full of nothing and that you enjoyed it! talk to you later this weekend when things i'm sure will get crazy. i know i'm getting taken out to dinner tomorrow night by my two favorite guys for mother's day...not sure where we are going yet. i'll let you know.

ok, really i'm going now...but not before saying happy early mother's day to all my mama friends in case i'm not back before sunday!! i know i'll be enjoying it this year as i have been for 3 years now.

easter 2009

easter was a bittersweet holiday this year... excited to celebrate the season and day, yet sad that our the newest member of our family was not here to celebrate it with us. the bunny still managed to make a stop at our house for tony d.

his basket filled with goodies

and his spiderman fishing rod (didn't fit in the basket)

pictures this early in the morning do not turn out too well..

there...that's the smile i was looking for

easter sunday was a special day for another reason this year too as 6 years earlier on 4/12 i married my amazing husband. in many ways i can't believe it's already been 6 years, yet at the same time, i also can't believe it's only been 6 years. i love you johnny...always will...and i can't wait to celebrate many, many more with you!

john before church on easter/our anniversary. you can't tell, but that's a purple shirt and purple and blue toned striped tie he has on...what a trooper for letting me dress him like that!

sharing the love

happy valentine's day...

"call me"

no lack of love from this guy...

showin' his love for mom!

tony picked spiderman valentine's to give to his friends at school...

we've been working on him writing his name...he signed all his own valentine's cards this year...no help from mom or dad!

tony helped me make heart-shaped rice krispie treats (on lollipop sticks) for his valentine's party

he helped me make a lot of them...

wishing you all a "love"ly valentine's day!!

new year's rockin' eve

this year we spent yet another new year's eve with the lutz family. this has been a tradition for us now for the past, gosh, 8-9 years now i think? our group has gotten smaller over the years as our friends family's have grown and changed as did their plans, but the 6 (now 7 with tony) of us still manage to continue the tradition and hope to for many more years!

this year lisa's sister and her family (minus 1) joined us. this was fun for tony as they have a son matthew who is just a little over 6 months younger than t (although he looks about 2 years older). they played and played and played...and played and played and played all night. it wasn't until matthew left to go home that tony started to get snuggled in for the night.

tony hung in until 11:47 p.m. - close, but not close enough to see the ball drop like he wanted to. maybe next year...(this was always a fun treat for me when i was allowed to stay up to see the ball drop)!

this turned out to be a great picture of tony with his "uncle" mikey (his godfather)...neither of them typically sit still long enough to get a shot like this!

good ol' dick clark...someone seriously needs to step in and keep this man off the air...i felt so bad for him.

the new "ball"...it's really nice watching it from the comfort of a warm home with a few good friends instead of all the chaos in nyc in the freezing cold! not for me...no thanks!

a shot of mama and t at midnight...poor thing was wiped out after his fun with matt!

hope everyone's 2009 is going well for them so far! hope it's a good one for all of us!!

here is the link to the full album from that evening.

christmas 2008

after waking anthony up at 8 a.m. (yes, we actually had to wake him up on christmas morning - hmmm, he's my kid as far as the sleeping goes, but not in the getting up christmas a.m. dept. - i was always a very early rise that day!)...he came downstairs to see if santa made his visit.

when we visited santa at the mall a few weeks ago, anthony had asked santa for 2 things specifically...a soft pretzel (yes, you were reading correctly) and a pair of scissors (this was followed by santa repeating back to him scissors? and anthony screaming, "scissors to cut paper with" in his face...it was honestly very funny, not nasty).

santa did not disappoint and left not only the soft pretzel where his cookies, the carrot and milk had been, but also this cool note for t.

along with this very cool pair of zebra striped scissors...to cut paper with!!!

after a quick a.m. nap for tony after opening the rest of his presents, we headed off to my mom and dad's for brunch and more presents that santa left at their house...tony got a drum set! he loves it and honestly, mom and dad think it's pretty cool too.

from there we came home and t took another good nap before heading to betty nana and gary's for christmas dinner and yet more presents.

we had a beautiful christmas and thank God for giving us another happy and healthy one with our families!

here is the link to our christmas album.

oh holy night

christmas eve was so much fun this year...tony was so into the preparation for santa's arrival, that although i absolutely love christmas eve service at church, i myself felt like a little kid waiting for it to be over so we could go home and get the night moving and get to bed!

following the candlit church service, we arrived home where tony got to open his christmas eve presents from mama and daddy (tradition of new pj's and a disney dvd - wall-e).

then it was time for the milk and cookies for santa and carrot for rudolph before heading off to bed. i was amazed at how nicely/quickly he went to bed too given his obvious excitement!

here is the link to the christmas eve photo album.

a schmomudabru christmas

on saturday, december 20th, we held the 2nd annual schmomudabru (schaeffer-mohr-mulligan-d'angelo-brumbaugh) christmas. it's become too hard for us to hit all family member's houses on christmas day, so we've started celebrating a couple days before.

this year, we did a cookie exchange to switch things up a little bit...it was very entertaining and aside from my thumbprint cookies turning out to look like the jolly green giant shoved his thumb to make the hole instead of mine, everyone's cookies turned out great!

another fun treat was when santa arrived on the reiffton fire truck. he drove right down my parent's street and stopped in front of the house. he waved and gave a few hearty ho-ho-ho's while a nice fireman handed out candy canes to tony and harry...only cindy mohr could arrange something like this (or happen to live in the right part of the township for santa's arrival).

since i'm catching up on posts, i won't be putting any pictures right into the post itself, but here is the link to the album so you can peek into our evening.
