not me! monday

wow, it's monday already? ugh...well, at least that means i can talk about all the things i most certainly did not do last week.

there is no way that i would go to a dr. appointment on friday and rather than returning to work ever so promptly following the appointment, instead head to marshall's for a mental health break and some retail therapy...nope, not me...not this hr manager!

and of course i would never then also go to a planned happy hour with my husband (thanks mimi for picking up tony) and some of our friends/co-workers only to have said happy "hour" turn into 5 1/2 hours, 2 beers and 2 margaritas later...oh and having to pick up my car the next morning...still wearing the clothes i passed out in...not this 31-almost 2 year old, haven't done that since my college days gal!

oh, and one for the family..,.

john and i most certainly did not find tony so snuggly-looking laying in our bed when he went down for his nap yesterday after church that we crawled in bed with him...for his nap...for two hours! not the two of us who soooo needed to get things done around the house.

ok, whose gonna join mckmama and her "not me! monday" fun?!

are you feelin' social?

i came across this really cute site during my blog hopping the other day...it's an invitation only site that provides access to the most hip and modern designer clothing and accessories for mom (and dad's too), baby and child at...are you ready for this??? up to 60% off!!! to keep it simple, they only host two to three designer socials each week.

anyone that knows me knows of my love for celebrities and their kids...well, imagine my excitement when i checked out the new mini social sale today to see items from the kingsley line of clothing on their site!

kingsley has received notoriety from the press and celebs over the past several years. the people magazine cover with the first photos of brad & angelina's baby, shiloh, wearing the now famous kinglsey "pots & pans band" tee gained world wide recognition, and became the first infant ever given a wax figure at madame tussauds wax museum wearing the same kingsley tee.

the past few sales have been primarily geared toward girl clothing and accessories (bobbi and luci you have to check out the bathing suits and dresses for the girlies)...but not today...when i got notice the kingsley sale had started...i knew today would be the day i would make my first mini social purchase! introducing...

the mod rock tee.
i think tony will look adorable playing his drum set and air guitar with his black-flamed vans and this sweet tee on, don't you?! i think this video would have been even better had he been wearing this rockin' shirt (and i had provided better lighting)!!

as i said, it's an invite-only site, so if you want, let me know and i'll email you an invitation...you'll just need to mention my name and email (dcodydog @ comcast . net) to sign-up. i thank you in advance as it will then give me a referral credit (after you've made your first purchase) to use towards my next purchase. but don't fret...you too can earn referral credits after you join, by simply sending your nearest and dearest invites and encouraging them to shop away!!

memorial day 2009

we spent the long memorial day weekend at oak creek campground with my sister, dave and harry b. we had our own site across from corinne and dave's permanent site and had a great time. camping is easy with tony and harry...as long as they're together and entertaining each other. it's a non-stop laughing party when these boys get together. it's monkey-see-monkey-do and oh so funny!

tony showing his usa pride

this picture has us both looking a little sad, but for some reason i really like it

i love seeing my sister and harry smiling!

look at that face...and the "b" slobber under his lips/on his chin!

here is an adorable video of the boys waving their flags to "proud to be an american"...

tony and harry - proud to be american's from Christy D'Angelo on Vimeo.

i love the faces tony makes during this short video...he's so trying not to laugh at corinne and i...that would be because my sister and i were dancing around to our "choreographed" routine we've always danced and sang anytime we've heard that song play...it's very dramatic. it's either that or he's already thinking, "mom, i can't believe you're making me do this".

and an album of pictures from the rest of our awesome weekend!! hope your holiday was just as nice!

cake anyone?

here is the latest diaper cake (small size) i did at the request of a friend who wanted a centerpiece for a shower she attending/hosting. the mom-to-be doesn't know the sex of the baby and had done the nursery in a jungle theme.
i found the adorable gund giraffe at bru and prayed i'd find a ribbon just as cute...i think it turned out pretty good and i was excited to create a "gender neutral" cake that wasn't the traditional "green"...i loved the brightness of the yellow and orange!

a surprise for the tone-ster

realizing on our way to the deloretta cabin that we had to drive past knoebel's, john and i thought it would be a fun idea to surprise tony on the way home with a visit to enjoy some of the rides and yummy park food (ok, that part might have been for the pure benefit of john and i). we told him to take a nap in the car on the way home and that we would wake him up for his surprise when we got there.

we woke him up right as we were heading into the parking lot of the park...he woke up and knew exactly where we were and couldn't wait to get out of the truck. the first question he asked was "are jack and sammy going to be meet us here". this was so cute because he's only ever been at knoebel's with the boys (my cousins, now 10 and 13) during out august camping trip.

to say he had a good time would be a complete understatement. we had no lines to wait in and the weather (despite being a little cold) was perfect as typically we are sweating bullets during our trip there.

you can view more pictures of our trip by clicking on the album link in the post below - i combined them with the pictures from the cabin weekend.

the great outdoors

back in the middle of may we joined the deloretta's at their camp, "god's little acre", for some r&r in the great outdoors for the 1st annual deloretta/d'angelo camp weekend! when i say, great outdoors i mean it...no indoor plumbing - that provided for a funny look from anthony when he said he had to go potty...luckily tamara is a seasoned camp packer and packed the portable "potty-training" potty...thank you tam - tony thanks you too!

we enjoyed a weekend full of fishing (for tony and paige), turkey hunting (for john and danny), hiking (all of us), and sleeping (me...big surprise there, i know). i forgot my "good" camera, so i was stuck using john's work camera and therefore have few pictures. i stole a few off of tamara's blog too to add to the album, but here are a few of my favorites.

we had a wonderful time...good food, good friends, good times...can't wait for the 2nd annual trip!

not me! monday

i did not leave for another weekend away, with yet another pile of dishes in my sink for the third weekend in a row...

there is no way that my dirty laundry pile is now bigger than my clean laundry pile and that it's only because i finally just folded, ironed and put away said clean clothes after days...err, weeks...ok, months of dressing from the piles...

i did not consume an entire bottle of wine...by myself...sitting around a campfire on friday night and not offer some to those around me...not me...i'm not that rude, am i?

ok, now i challenge you to go to mckmama's blog and sign-up to join in on not me! mondays - go on...you know you want to!
