looking back

this will be my quick attempt at updating you on what's been going on since i last posted. i will hit the highlights as many of you are friends with me on facebook so you know what's going on anyway. i'm hoping to do these updates over the next few days so that by the weekend we are back on track and up to the present goings-on.

let's finish out 2009...

october - 2009

this year tony requested a spiderman costume for halloween. he was so adorable with his little washboard abs and big muscles. i just wanted to squeeze him when he had this on. he enjoyed a halloween parade at school with many from our family joining us to watch. harry even wore his chicken costume to enjoy the festivities. the night before halloween we were invited to trick-or-treat around st. lawrence with our good friend's the good's and their neighbor's the muhr's. the boys (err, i mean spiderman, batman and mr. skeleton) had a great time and hauled in the candy!

november - 2009

the beginning of november saw tony turning 4. he had a birthday party at bowl-o-rama. it was family and a few of his buddies. each of the kiddo-s got personalized "bowling shirts" that tony was so proud of!

the photo above was my sad attempt at a bowling ball cake with bowling pin cupcakes. everyone said they weren't as bad as i thought they looked...let's just not talk about them.

the day before tony's birthday party we also had the pleasure of attending the wedding of a college friend of mine. shane and i met my sophmore year of college when we both became ra's of scranton hall. our friendship grew over the years and we've managed to stay in touch since graduating 10 years ago. he and his wife erin are just perfect for each other and i wish them nothing but the best in their life together!

december - 2009

we had a wonderful christmas. anthony was just at such a good age and we just really sat there and laughed with and at each other on christmas morning.

no christmas for the d'angelo's would be complete without first venturing to plow farm to pick out the perfect christmas tree. this was my "dream come true" year for picking a tree as we had fresh fallen snow on the ground as we searched for the perfect tree and went on the wagon ride.

our perfect tree (we thought so anyway)

we spent christmas eve before church at my mom and dad's. our christmas morning was different this year for us than any in the past as i hosted first my parents for breakfast and then later the in-laws and that side of the family for christmas dinner. it was my first one. and i loved not having to travel around and everyone coming to us. anthony liked it too as he didn't have to leave his house/tree and toys! because of this change in plans, we celebrated our christmas morning on christmas eve with my sister, bil and harry.

as i said above, i hosted my first christmas brunch and then later dinner. the fun part of this for me was being creative and setting the table. i think i did an ok job with this.

we had a wonderful holiday and i took a ton more pictures. follow this link to see the rest of them.
