stroller addicts anonymous

ok, it's been confirmed, i am not the only one! this article was given to me by a co-worker who knows all too well my addiction!

you can click the link below to read the full article, but here a few of my favorites bits!

the signs of stroller addiction

does your garage look like a stroller graveyard?
if you’re having trouble finding storage for all your castoff strollers, this is physical, tangible evidence of stroller abuse. do find yourself tripping over a stray wheel every time you maneuver in your house or is your backyard/garage/storage shed packed with cobwebby strollers?

indulging in stroller porn
do you habitually flip through baby catalogs, peruse websites, magazines, baby registries or any literature where strollers may be advertised?

compulsively fantasize about other strollers?
even when you're out pushing your newest trophy stroller, you fantasize about other strollers you encounter.

cruise for strollers?
do you hang out in playgrounds, parks, jogging trails, baby conventions, and amusement parks where you’re likely to see a variety of strollers?

if you answered yes to three or more of these questions (and the rest in the full article), then chances are you are a stroller addict like me!

the author of the article says that it’s essential to evaluate your lifestyle and to accept that you may need two or three strollers with very specific functions to meet your perambulating needs, instead of chasing after everything with wheels.

-a cheap, umbrella stroller for quick errands is a must-have in your stroller rotation (got it! on loan to nana for visits to her house).

-something lightweight and compact for airports (got it! a maclaren quest), but not so pricey that you’d be heartbroken if it was damaged or lost.

-for longer hauls, that pricey bubagoo (i will own one of these someday! - either the original or the adorable new bee, see pic above) or peg perego (got it! the pliko p3) is the suv of strollers.

-something with adequate sunshade and substantial, shock-absorbing wheels and a fully reclining seat, will keep your little one comfy and preserve your sanity (got it! the combi iv).

-and depending on your activity level, you may also want a more rugged jogging stroller for hikes and runs (got it! jeep liberty urban terrain). but that’s about it. unlike shoes and handbags, a girl really doesn’t need (need being the operative word here) more than two or three strollers in her carefully edited collection.

hmmm...guess according to the article, I'm done...ha!

I don't think I am part of the SAA group (stroller addicts anonymous) but I do have 3 strollers now (2 gracos-travel system & light weight and the Jeep umbrella) and with the pending birth of Kara, I want to get one of those strollers that has the little seat/platform in the back for Ryan to hop onto.

Any advice which brand to get???

The Joovy Caboose is great!!! Let me know when you're ready and I'll find out who's got it the cheapest and I'll get you a coupon code or free shipping or something! They even have a lightweight one now too and both the original and lightweight come in tons of different colors!

awesome! you're the best! The Caboose is the one I see around all the time--that stroller looks so neat. I will totally let you know when we are ready...most likely next month sometime or early June. Still trying to get Ryan's big boy room done...haven't agreed on furniture yet..argg!

Good Luck tonight! :)
